About Us

Phomolong Shining Stars Football Club (PSSFC)

Phomolong Shining Stars FC founded in 2022 by Johannes Lucky Masilumpana, Phomolong Shining Stars Football Club is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC No. 2024/218759/08) and Non-Profit Organisation (NPO No. 316-191) based in Phomolong Section, Tembisa, in the heart of Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.

We are a grassroots football club focused on youth development through sport. Our club is currently made up of five divisions:

  • Under 9
  • Under 11
  • Under 13
  • Under 15
  • Under 17

PSSFC is proudly affiliated with SAFA Midrand North Region and actively competes in the Rabie Ridge Stream.


Our Purpose

Phomolong Shining Stars FC exists not only to play football, but to change lives. We are a donation-reliant community team working to uplift young people through the power of sport.

We are led by Coach Johannes “Coach Lucky” Masilumpana, with the support of 8 dedicated management staff who assist with the daily operations and vision of the club.


Our Mission

“To restore hope among the youth in our community affected by crime and substance abuse, using sport and educational programs to promote positive transformation.”


Our Vision

  • To grow from a local team into a world-renowned football academy for both boys and girls.
  • To partner with major football clubs in South Africa and globally.
  • To nurture young talent capable of representing the South African national team.

Our Objectives

  1. To remove youth from the streets and reduce exposure to crime, drug abuse, and alcohol, using football as a tool for social change.
  2. To create opportunities for youth who aspire to become professional footballers, by providing proper development programs.
  3. To inspire responsibility and leadership through mentorship and sportsmanship.

Though we are only 3 years old, our track record shows immense progress and promise:

  • Under 13: Semifinalists, Matango Easter Tournament (2024)
  • Under 11: Semifinalists, Matango Easter Tournament (2025)
  • Under 11: 4th Place, Rabie Ridge League Junior Stream
